  • Leave the foil that you put on after tattooing for at least 3 hours and a maximum of 8 hours
  • after removing wash under running water (without soap)
  • pat dry with kitchen roll
  • Let the tattoo dry for half an hour.
  • I would not apply lotion to the tattoo for the first 1-2 days after tattooing, but only wash it off briefly under running water twice a day.
  • The reason for this is that your tattoo is an open wound and in the beginning the skin has not yet died but naturally supplies itself with moisture. Only when the skin slowly dies off (crust forms) and the swelling is gone does it make sense to apply cream to the tattoo. (from about the 3rd day) Before the skin is not closed and the old skin dies off, the body wants to get rid of every foreign body (the cream you smear on it) and the wound wets more again.
  • If you then apply lotion to the tattoo after the first 2-3 days, please only use a very thin layer.
  • Applying cream 2 times a day is usually always enough .. no matter which part of the skin. Better not to overdo it. Less is more :-)
  • How long you should treat your tattoo with cream actually depends on which skin area it is and how long it feels sore. But normally 10 days makes sense.
  • You can use whatever cream you want or what you've had good experiences with in the past. But I have to say that experience has shown that it is better if you use creams that are based on vegetable oil. (without paraffin) To put it bluntly, you can also just use pure coconut oil or shea butter. However, I can highly recommend the “Hustle Butter Deluxe” cream. I've been using these for tattooing for years and you can't go wrong with them. You can order it online and it costs around 10 euros (but please take the small can, the big one is way too much)
  • You shouldn't scrape the scab or scratch it, even if it's itchy as it heals.
  • Tip: Wash off with cold water for 30 seconds, then the itching will stop.
  • In principle, sport is possible again after 4 days, but it depends very much on the area that has been tattooed and the type of sport practiced. If you plan to do very sweaty sports, it is better to take a 6-day break.
  • You should avoid direct sunlight on the freshly tattooed area for 2 months at best. You can cover the area and then step out in the sun without hesitation.
  • After the first 2 months, the tattoo can be exposed to the sun again (but please always use sunscreen on the spot, especially in the first six months)I know that the subject of the sun is always underestimated, but I ask you to consider these points in order to achieve a perfect healing result. The skin simply needs a few months to restore the skin's own UV protection.
  • You can go bathing and swimming again after 14 days.
  • However, swimming is usually accompanied by sun exposure, which then again refers to the points listed above.
  • When showering in the first week after the tattoo, be careful that the freshly tattooed skin is not soaked for too long and does not come into contact with the shower gel or shampoo.
